What is a digipak?

It's a case which holds one or multiple CDs/DVDs related to the band. It's normally something extra or fancy for the artist to release.

Key information of a Digipak:

• information booklet-photos, interviews/ messages from band, Q&A, songs, biographical information...
• CD of album/ tracks- maybe:

                                                          -featuring guest artists
                                                          -bonus tracks
                                                          -exclusive re-mixes

• DVD of music video/ extras/ special features/ behind the scenes footage...
• Art work/ Photography/Posters/Images- this must look interesting, represent the band and connect with the bands style
• Original shape of box
• Limited Edition (so people will be more likely to buy it)
• Feature the bands logo and a record company logo
• BBFC certification (12a, 15, 18)
• Review quotes from magazines etc...
• Bar code
• Website adress/ myspace/ facebook
• A blurb on the back that tells you what is inside
• Unique selling point

To convince/persuade the audience more into buying the Digipak i may include:-

• Free tickets to a 'secret gig'
• Signed by the band
• Merchandice, t-shirt...
• Competition- 'Meet the band' or star an audience member in the bands future video

These are the things i will be thinking about when planning my digipak!
